Another warm sunny August day. Especially late in the afternoon the back deck is the coolest place to hang. I just love her feet! This adorable dress was a present from Aunty Carol and I am happy Olivia can wear it now, since she's been walking. Before in the crawling mode she would just crawl all up into the dress and get stuck!

In the summer, we went to the Edmonds farmer's market almost every Saturday. We would pick up lunch and have a little picnic. But before the summer was out, our little missy couldn't sit still for such a thing! This is the only picture we got of her during these outings! Even though her eyes are closed it is still a precious picture to me.



This picture below, also from the farmer's market, is of Rick Steve's of Europe Through The Backdoor fame. He lives in Edmonds and is headquartered here too. We see him all the time and he lives down our street. It is rumored he drives really fast which doesn't make all the little old ladies and gentlemen in Edmonds very happy. And it is surprising to me b/c he just didn't strike me as the type, based on watching his PBS shows. He is the tall guy in the gray long sleeve top in the middle. Do you recognize him from his back? ;-)
This may have been from the same hot August day . . . little Olivia playing with a bucket of water on our deck. She's soaked and she loved dumping the water out the best.

Birthday party videos

Olivia was a little tired by the end of this day (not her birthday, but the next day) but she still was game for a measurement on her new growth chart. I just love the idea of this keepsake chart. You can take it down and store away or leave it up. Love it! And I love Olivia's little smile here and she is holding her kitty that stays in her crib with her every night (then she fires it out onto the ground as soon as she wakes up).
Olivia LOVES straws, especially the ones in my water glass like here.

Olivia is walking. Has been for about 2 weeks, but they were just a couple of small steps at a time. Today she really has been going for it. Here is one of her longer walks. And I must confess that I am sitting on her bear chair. (poor bear chair)

What a cutie!!!

We have 3 different video cameras so I am having a time trying to keep the videos somewhat organized.

This one is all about practice, practice, practice! She started stacking her rings at around 11 months and now does it "by feel" without looking. I am so proud of her! She gets a real kick out of it and out of our reactions.

I was trying to capture Olivia's latest chit chat on film. I did catch a little of it. She has been trying out all kinds of new sounds and boy is she fun!

Here is the little one crawling for the camera on July 22.


Aunty Carol, Uncle Gary and Nan, Steve's grandmother hosted a bbq/picnic for tons of friends and family this past weekend. Here is our little princess checking it all out. She is so fair we sought the shady spots at all times. And of course I took ONLY 3 pictures. Of Olivia of course. I really need to get shots of other important people! I will work on that.



We are taking a little break on our back deck and Steve got the camera out. I am glad to have the pictures of Olivia but asked Steve why he can't take any pics of me when I am all cleaned up and going out and looking presentable? All the pics of me catch me looking like the disheveled mom that I am! :-)
