Our little town held an Easter egg hunt Saturday. It was well done I thought. They divided the kids up into three age groups. Olivia was in a group with mostly kids between 1 and 2 years of age. They sectioned off a little area of a field at our city park and laid the eggs on the grass. And then they announced when we could all go inside the ropes. It wasn't very competitive yet since they are still so wee, but I could see some parents pushing the little ones to get more and more eggs. I could just feel the competitive urge! I am glad we didn't see too much of it, though. We had a great time! This is my first public egg hunt as well; that's why I feel compelled to explain it here. It is probably pretty typical as far as egg hunts go. We had great weather and Olivia had a blast.

We then moved onto :RUNNING! Still one of Olivia's favorite things to do. Here's daddy redirecting our LO away from the busy street.
At first we avoided the Easter Bunny (s) because, A. It was so chaotic, and 2. I thought for sure my little missy would be one of the kids you see bursting into tears when they meet someone in costume (like she did when she met Santa Claus at Halloween, yes Halloween). We slowly approached one once all the hullaballo died down. And low and behold she adored the bunnies! They were like big stuffed toys to her but alive and more fun. Here she is at one of her first sightings of the big bunny: reaching, touching and hugging! And all smiles. Notice how this particular bunny wasn't very participitory. (Arms remaining at bunny's sides. We called this bunny the Lame Bunny.)

Oh but wait, there is a little wave! Good job Lame Bunny!
Then we came across the Good Bunny! This one got down to the kid's level and gave out hugs freely. Here is Olivia doing her long distance hug.

And then RUNNING! away. (She says running emphatically and with much fervor all the time.) Hope everyone had a good egg hunt and Easter! More Easter pictures coming soon.
